Frequently asked questions
We offer a full range of editorial services including developmental editing, line/stylistic editing, copyediting, and proofreading. We also provide consultations, beta reading, text optimization, and support for content trimming or expansion.
If you’re unsure, we’ll figure it out together during your free consultation. We will ask about your goals, the stage of your manuscript, and the kind of support you’re looking for. From there, we can recommend a service that fits your needs — or a custom combination.
Yes! Your first consultation is completely free with no obligation. It’s a chance to talk through your project, ask questions, and see if we’re a good fit to work together. You’ll leave with clarity — whether or not you decide to move forward.
Turnaround times vary depending on the scope and length of your project, as well as the current schedule. During our consultation, I’ll give you a clear estimate and timeline based on your specific needs.
We work with writers at every stage — from brand-new voices to seasoned professionals. Whether you’re polishing your tenth book or just starting your first, we can meet you where you are.
Absolutely. Purposeful Prose takes confidentiality seriously. Much of our work involves clients under non-disclosure agreements, and we extend that same level of discretion to every project, whether formally protected or not unless permitted otherwise.
The first consultation is free. After that, individual consultations are $40/hour — or 20% off if you book four in advance. Editing packages are quoted based on the word count and complexity of your project. We’ll discuss pricing transparently during your consultation.
Yes. Whether you’ve written 10 pages or 200, we can provide feedback, help shape your direction, or support you in building momentum. Consultations and partial edits are both available.
Yes — you can request individual services without booking a full editing package. These can be added to existing work or quoted separately, depending on the scope.
Many of the projects I’ve supported have been under strict confidentiality — including ghostwritten works and high-level government documentation. I understand the importance of discretion and treat all projects with the highest level of professionalism and care.
